You gotta want it, but the opportunities are there. Public land hunting is not for the faint of heart.

I moved from baton rouge to huntersville, nc and work in mooresville.

I, like some of the posters have already stated, thought the duck hunting was bad in Louisiana for those that couldn't afford a $20k/year blind.

That was until I moved to Charlotte and realized Louisiana is T-f'ing Carmen Electra for duck hunters compared to this deadzone they call the east coast flyway. I have a feeling you will find the same your first few years in the state. Then you'll start bitching like all the real duck hunters.

Yep. I usually travel to NW Tennessee, arky, and SW Missouri for hunting a few times per year. The remainder is a few spots here for woodies. East coast sucks unless you're up in western NY or near the shore in Delaware or Maryland. I've put down some solid numbers in Delaware years ago.

Whatcha got? Mine's a G3 with 2 stroke yamaha - Got the boat in 06 before I knew much about G3 so it was sort of a gamble for me. No regrets.

I've been out the duck game a few years but there are some good places to hunt on public land. The problem you will have is most are a far distance from Baton Rouge. Northeast la has a lot of public land. There's the delta down south.

Hunting on weekdays will give you a big advantage too.

If you do move here the first thing you need to do is register to vote and help get rid of Mary Landrieu.
