I forgot who posted about the Bobby Cole books, but thank you. I've read both in the "Jake Crosby" series, and even The Rented Mule. How Bobby Cole takes his love for the outdoors and turns it into a mystery/suspense novel was pretty cool. I'm fresh out of books, though. What y'all got?

The Quest and the Quarry is pretty cool.
It's just a little strange, because the book actually changes point of view a couple times.

A Land Remembered- quite possibly the most interesting and enjoyable work I've ever read.

If you like Larry McMurtry, author of Lonsome Dove, try The Berrybender Narratives. There are 3 or 4 books in the series.

Anything by Patrick McManus. He wrote a regular humorous column for Outdoor Life for years. The guy is hilarious and we can all relate to his adventures as a boy with his pals, Retch Sweeney and Rancid Crabtree. Take a look at this link and pay attention to the review ratings. Patrick McManus is one of a kind. LINK

Like someone else said the C.J. Box novels are great. Look them up to see what order they are in because there are several of them. Open Season is the first in the series and there are 14 in all.

The books feature a Wyoming game warden Joe Pickett. All of the stories are set in the outdoors.
