There's more to it than that. Take our example. There were very few models available anywhere near here. There were lots of people looking for them. The dealers could easily move these since there were so few. My wife was ready to buy a vehicle simply because it was the only one. It wasn't even close to the package she wanted.

The Houston places not only had way more stock, there were more choices of dealer. We got the feeling that they knew if we got our feet off their lot they would never see us again. The places here know better.

A salesmen saying that more volume =\= cost savings? Boy, I bet he really kills it out there.

I didn't buy from him.

I just didn't make any sense to me as to why he would tell me that.

He eventually came down to pretty close to what I was getting % off on the truck I bought but missed it by about .5%.

Happy with the truck I got and enjoy the hell out of my 36 gallon tank compared to 23

My 250 had a 24 gallon tank. I will never buy one again if they keep pulling that stupid shite.

I was considering doing just that. However, Ford has been known to blame the Titan tanks for causing the HPFP to grenade. The claim was about the diesel causing the tank to delaminate. All bullshite, but their reason to deny warranty.

Interesting. I'll have to let them know about that if that's what they got.

Surely these guys have the sticker and the bill of sale? Maybe we can compare.

I bought my truck in 09, sticker was 33700, and i paid 24800. (scary how much more trucks are in 6 years )

Titan or Ford would be footing that bill unless I bought a tank that said no diesel.

This was over the phone. Was sitting in the parking lot at other dealership already and had a perfectly painless experience after that.

Well then you really had something good to tell him

"Hey I was going to buy a truck and try it out before placing an order for 20 for my company, but since there's no wiggle room on a high volume purchase, I'm going talk to these guys instead"
