Sounds like my Jeep is just right for you Gaston. Even my windows are manual.

Nothing wrong with that

I wish I could get by with that little storage, but I need to be able to haul lumber and tools. I have a Bestop on my Tacoma, so I channel as much Jeep as I can.

. Exactly this. And I love my Tacoma because it doesn't turn the fukin headlights on every time I stop under a shade tree.

It can be done. It may not be pretty, but it can be done. I take the back window and backseat out. You can throw a ton of stuff in the tub of a Jeep. Prop your 2x4x8s up and let them hang out the back. I think I got 35-40 of them in mine once.

Also, is it cool to post links to contests here? I saw one on facebook for a Bumper giveaway. And of course like anything else, if you share the link they email you, you get additional entries for anyone that enters the contest with your link. If y'all are interested and it is kosher, then I'll post it up and the first person can use my link then post theirs for the next person to enter with to keep it rolling and fair.

Why do you own that over a regular F150?
I need reasons.

Speaking of, a '98 just popped up. I didn't want to go that old, but it looks to be in great shape.

Depends on who did the work and what transmission it has. The three speed non over drive atuo is a tank but they leak and that is usually what gets people in trouble.

I would be more worried about why it failed in the first place. If someone beat it like it owed them money the transmission might have just been the first thing to go.

98 is a good year if it's cheap enough. Go ahead and buy a bushing kit because if they haven't been changed yet you're going to need to address that soon. Check for evidence of a leaky heater core, and check the color of the coolant. If it looks like there is brown sludge in the overflow bottle, find another peej. Run you finger inside the filler neck on the top of the radiator, if it's brown or gritty, walk away quickly.

It's old enough to vote, so the unit bearings are almost certainly at the end of their life span as well

You can pull the front drive shaft but other than that, no you can not. At least not without serious skills and time. Not sure why you would want to anyway. Even with the driveshaft pulled the front axle still spins. TJ's have a fixed hub up front and the manual hub kits are like a thousand bucks.

It looks pretty good all things considered. The braided PVC has no logical explanation so who knows what that's all about. Looks like the AC dryer has been replaced as well as the radiator.

TJ's are one of those things that will dime you to death on upkeep if it's not something you're interested in as a hobby. Not sure what you are trying to do with it but I recommend a two door JK if it's something you're trying to drive. Just about any TJ is going to be a project car, especially an 18 year old TJ. So unless you got the garage space, tools, and ability, a TJ might not be for you.
