I am warning you all of my experience with Meopta.
It failed me when I needed it most. I brought it hunting in the Timpanoga mountains with me.
On a rainy day (quite standard for Louisiana), it filled internally with moisture.

Big buck walked out in front of me.......couldnt see shite down my scope. I would take a blind, unethical shot. I had to hike out to my truck, drive out of the mountains to buy a new scope.

Dont say I didnt tell you my story.

Go with a Vortex Viper or a Sightron. Bushnell as a third choice.
No offense to others on this board, but Leupys suck;Nikon's reticles dont stay centered; and even Swarovski doesnt hold true on top of magnums.

Viper

Good luck

It doesn't bother me too much. Planning on doing a few more with one being in 6.5 creedmoor. I may do a lightweight rifle.

I have 3 80% lowers and one of those will be a 6.5 Grendel as well.

I'd love to hear your Leupold story.

I don't think Leupolds suck but there's certainly lots better scope for your money out there. Show me a Leupold that has remotely close to the glass and features of the Viper I listed for anywhere close to $300...... you can't. For the money of a VX3 you're bordering on what you can buy a Zeiss HD5 for and the Leupold's aren't even in the same class til you get into the very upper end Leupolds. The days of Leupold having a monopoly at home on top of the average hunter's trusted rifle are over. While other scope companies were busy improving their products,qc, and adding more features for your money, Leupold has been sitting back expecting to live off the same scopes they made years ago and just increasing the price of them. Of course this is my opinion. But I will add that up until about 5 years ago I was a loyal Leupold customer and every rifle I owned had one sitting on top of it. But after a few friends had me try their scopes I swapped all of my glass over to Zeiss, Vortex ,and Burris Euro Diamonds. I highly doubt I will go back to any Leupold products unless they really do something different

You don't have to look very hard to find multiple problems users have had with QC issues. Yes, their customer service is really good. However, the fact that you're also more likely to have to use it is the thing that has scared me away from trying them out.

Zeiss and Burris are top notch for sure.

Have you tried out the VX3i?

Only looking outside from inside a store. I have no doubts that some Vortex scopes may have problems. Same as Leupold or any other scope manufacturer can have. But when you break down what you're getting for your money dollar for dollar Leupold is lagging behind. Does Leupold make good scopes? Absolutely. But you can buy betterquality and more features for less than what Leupold is pricing their scopes at. I guess what I'm getting at is the Leupold fan boys are spending a lot more money and getting less scope on a lot of the Leupold models just to get that name and that gold ring because of the scope they use to make. I learned a long time ago that a fella can miss out on some great gear when he is blindly loyal to only one company that makes a certain product

I guess I'm just ignorant to some of these added features you speak of. And I'm no fanboy. One of my favorite rigs was a Weaver Grand Slam that sat on an Encore .35 Whelen.

I guess I'm just a simpleton. The Leupolds I've owned haven't failed me. They transmit a lot of light. They're rock solid, and they're built in the US. I haven't felt the need to venture out. But again ( and I assure you I'm not meaning this maliciously; I'm genuinely curious), what features am I missing out on in the $300-$400 range? I paid $320 for my VX3i FWIW. It'll be hard to convince me that there is a better option at that price point.
