Would like to keep it below $400 but if y'all have a clear cut favorite I'll consider spending a little more. Going to be a hunting rifle w/ most shots <150yds, max prob 300yds

I never liked them. Bought an EGW pic rail and Warne rings for mine.

Would the medium warne rings work for a 50mm? Or would I need the highs?

So I took the VX3i out last night and compared it to my VX-R. Man this VX3i is crystal clear. I love the VX-R and it's a great option, but I'm glad I went with the 3i. Great light transmission, and I can't say enough about the crisp imaging I was getting at dusk. While the Vx-R is no slouch, I could simply make out more details through the 3i well past sundown.

I'd love to put it next to the Meopta. If those things are as good as some of y'all claim, then it must be a spectacular piece of glass.

Most of the board will recommend Meopta but I have Vortex on all mine - lots of options within your budget...

A guy that I work with bought himself a new T3x CTR in 6.5cr on my suggestion. Not on my suggestion he put a Nikon pro staff on it. I really tried to talked him into the Meopta 3.5-10x44 but he wanted the Nikon.

We took it out y-day to sight it in and shoot it. I had my AR-10 with meopta 4.5-14x50 so he could see it and shoot it with a silencer on it.
He made the comment of how much clearer the meopta is compared to his Nikon and I just looked at him and smiled.

Really wasn't any comparison.

Oh, the T3x CTR is awesome. With factory ammo we were easily get 3/4 inch groups at 100yds. Probably would have been tighter if not for user error.

Also, I was pretty proud when I had 3 holes touching on my AR-10

I wouldn't have been able to get a non-Leupold either. I'm a Leupold whore. My next will be a vx-3i

Can't go wrong with a Leupy. Like I said though, I would love to put the 3i side by side a Meopro just to see if the hype is legit.

I have a Zeiss Conquest on it.

It will be used for some target but mostly hunting. The AR-10 will pretty much only be used for target shooting. It's heavy as hell. With silencer and unloaded mag, it's around 15lbs. And very long.
