I have a cheap Ryobi 120v that works as much as 3 hours a day, non stop for the last 8 years (used with a sanding wheel). That being said, all of my other drills are Milwaukee and work great. But, that damn cheap arse ryobi just won't quit.

I'm trying to research this shite more and it isn't helping. Thinking I'm leaning towards the Milwaukee.....
Here's the question though... Do I need to get the 1/2" version? They all pretty much cost the same for the same styles. Basically $199 for the impact and the drill with 2 batteries.... The cheaper ones are $150ish, but they aren't 1/2" I think.

compare the torque power of that drill to the rigid genx5 combo set.

I'd go with the 1/2". I love my Milwaukees and Ive owned every major brand in the past. Dewalt used to be my favorite, but Ive broken a few less than a few weeks out of the box, in the last couple of years. Mostly problems with their impacts, not their drills.
Home depot runs specials on Milwaukees time to time. If you buy the impact/drill combo, they give you a free battery, that you can return and save like $100 on the ential purchase. Home Depot is totally cool with it.
Also, Dewalt 20v drills aren't really 20v. Put a meter on it if you don't believe me.

That 18v combo is great. The last special i saw was a few months ago. I think it was like $450, but getting the extra 3rd battery for free, brought it down to $350 after I returned it. They also had a free reciprocating saw, if you didn't want the battery.

I bought a porter and cable at Lowes a couple of years ago. Great so far, and battery is still lasting well.

If it's just the combo set of the 1/2" drill and impact the rigid is $179 with the radio (not sure that really matters), batteries etc. they have replacement deal on the batteries too I think. It also seems to have more torque than the Milwaukee.
The Milwaukee is $199 for basically the same deal with a little less torque and no radio...

I've got the 5.0. It's awesome. So much power and the battery lasts forever, the extended battery that is.

Ah..... so this isn't in the stores yet or at least in the highland location? May be why there aren't any boxes for the combo on the shelf.

yeh, just saw that.... how do the saws hold up power wise compared to a corded one? I realize the batteries are full power the entire time until they run out, but are they worth getting as opposed to a corded one?
