Looking good fish.

AUTimbo, you have a link to the epoxy that you used?

What did that outdoor fireplace cost (ballpark)? I've been debating building one at the house.

It wasn't cheap.

The fireplace kit was $1600+
~900 brick at almost $1 a piece
firepbrick (really don't know what those cost.
The fieldstone was around $300.
All the concrete and masonry blocks probably $3-400 (I had to build it up because my yard falls off away from the house. Build it up about 2ft).
Mortar was $50.

took me about 3 months working on the weekends.

Nice. I need to make one of those, where did you get the mirror?

Side note. I went to Robichaux today in Raceland. They have a good selection of Harwood and will cut it for you. I bought a 2x6x8 Ash, 2x4x8 hard maple and a 2x6x4 spanish cedar to make a few end grain cutting boards.

They also have a shite ton of cypress and they do carry marine plywood.

I should clarify...bought the bar top off of Craigs List. Guy that did it flowed the epoxy on, (I'm assuming he heated it some to get it to flow better, and then sandpapered between coats.)

I bought it and built a mini bar cabinet around it, and am in the process of finishing up covering the two sides with airstone, as I did the front.
Hated that the airstone only comes in two flavors, neither which I felt looked right on this, so I bought 4-5 cans of spray paint at Lowes and experimented until I got it looking like I wanted.

Small suggestion for any OB'ers who may want to try Airstone in the future..If you paint it, make sure to rough the pieces up against each other after they dry.
I painted all the pieces and couldn't figure out for the life of me why they didn't look "right".
Decided they looked "too" perfect and so just started rubbing them against each other.
Worked wonders.

We liked the bar top so much we got him to do us a dining table top also. Split a piece of maple, braced it and filled it with beads, then epoxied over the whole thing as well.Turned out pretty frickin awesome, and cost us no more than a new table would have at the local furniture stores.Just waiting on a wood/iron table base to get here from Chinaland and I'll fit the two together.

Wow. That's amazing.

I finished my end table. Got to deliver it tomorrow so that I can start updating/painting a crib. Planning on making my girl a toy box as well. Hopefully before she gets here in December.

I'm guessing my deer season is gonna suck lol.

I seen some guys online make those tabletops to look like a river. I'd like to try that one day.

Got some pine 1 1/2" thick around 20" wide x 10' slabs that I will let go for a small fee. They are live edge too!

You don't have to heat the epoxy. If mixed correctly, it has tons of time to flow/lay flat. Having bubbles get stuck before drying and not rising to the top is the hard part.

Nice table, by the way.

Home Depot. 60x16 beveled mirror. $25

I used these plans - LINK

If you do build it, make sure mirror fits in door frame first. Mine was a little off so my sander got a workout.

Having a small sawmill, this is what one gets. These boards, water oak were sawed about a year ago, stacked and stickered to air dry. They were quarter sawed.

Looks like crap before planning. Now after planning.

Nice rays in these boards. This is what I been using for wainscoting thru my camp build.

Finished all the areas that needed to be done and I'm very happy how it came out.

If Fish doesn't have what you are looking for, I have over 1000 exotic hardwood slabs to choose from. Hopefully Fish can help you, though.
