how you going to heat it in the ohio winter?

Its just bellefontaine(mid Ohio), will need to protect against the wind and a wood stove should heat the place nicely.

Buckeye, you will be able head over to the mound for some skiing as well

The name sounds familiar, but not personally. Did the kids go to Catholic school?

Highest point in Ohio

Gotta watch out for the dangerous avalanches though.

Yeah, I love southern Ohio and was originally looking there, but I got this land through family and couldn't pass up the price.

A few Sunday updates:

A couple of the floor tiles laid out. One with flash, one without(color is closer to the non-flash photo):

And the porch railing is up:

Note: got the front of the cabin stained, but I'm not a fan of the color, so we're working on how we want to change that

Unless you are in a low wind area I would look into adding some horizontal bracing. Those 2x4s will not give you much deflection resistance. You should replace them with structural/architectural beams.

Are you talking porch or interior? Cuz we've got 2 6x6 beams coming for the interior

Yeah, the interior. Those 6x6's will be perfect for lateral support and will look great.

Im jealous of your place, its coming together nicely.

Yeah, was initially going to go with 4x4s but figured why not and got the 6x6s.
