I checked this out about 10 years ago and was told it was worth about $1100.00 because is did not have the other barrel with it.

bullshite, even a V grade 16 gauge should be at least $2200+, depending on the condition and grade, the price could go up dramatically. Parker Gun Collectors Start here

my wife has one of those that was her Grandfather's. I found it a few years back in his old shoe shine box.

It had plastic grips off of a cap gun held on with electrical tape. I took it to a gunsmith and spent over double what its worth getting him to fix it up and find original grips for it. We've only shot it once. It kind of scares me to shoot it due to its reputation of not indexing properly.

My Dads S&W Model 15. Had it stolen out of his truck in 1984. He reported it stolen. In the early 1990's a buddy that worked at the SO called him and told him they found his gun. It had been used in a murder. When the court case was over they gave it back to my dad. He gave it to me and was in pretty good shape considering hoodrats had it for 8-9 years.

Damn, dude. That's some goodies there.

I fixed the 39A up a good bit. Had to replace the ejector and I put a Leupold Rimfire on it. That thing is a tack driver.

That's a sweet gun! We got mine appraised at Lafayette Shooters. They had someone at the time that was very knowledgeable. He was able to tell me what year mine was made in (I forgot by now) but he said it was probably just a couple of months before they started putting swastikas on the grip. I tried to do some research to see what German mine was issued to but almost all records from the Nazi's were burned so it was to no avail.

Only name written on the inside flap in mine is my grandfathers. It looks like my grandfather took a knife and scratched out the name that was written. I guess it was his way of getting at the guy one more time

Even though I never met your son, I did get to know him on this msg board (I guess as well as one could get to know a stranger over the internet in post). I was thinking about him just the other day and was hoping his wife, kids, and parents are doing well.

For those that don't know, JSM's son was El Josey Wales. One of the 1st on the OB.

He was one of the good guys.

I've got a 1960's model Stevens double barrel 410 with the dual triggers. My grandfather has 5 grandsons and I am the youngest. It was given to every single one of his grandsons as their 1st gun. We all have killed our first Duck, Squirrel (Except Brother), rabbit, dove, and a few "red-breasted" doves with that gun. Our grandfather taught us everything we know abut hunting and outdoors, along with my dad. Took the grandfather (who is now 87yo) deer hunting last year and got to shoot an ole nanny with him in the stand with me, but that wasn't the best part about that morning hunt. We got home that afternoon and he, my brother, and I cleaned the deer. After that, he brought out the old 410 and a Browning .22. Gave me the 410 and my brother .22.

I'll cherish that day for the rest of my life

Dang must have missed your posts. Sorry for your loss. A gun is a great way to remember someone. That's why I started this thread. I love to hear stories of old guns passed down, sadder when it's passed up. I think about both my grandfathers every time I just see their old guns in my closet. Praying for you and your family.
