Anyone recommend a place or an outfitter to go hunt merriams? Wy or Nebraska most likely.

You really don't need an outfitter in Nebraska. Fort Robinson area has birds. Just go during the week to avoid all the other NR hunters. They're about to start limiting spring tags to 2 per hunter and no more than 10,000 allotted for NRs.

Not sure that will help much with pressure.

If you're looking to go during the early archery season, you'd probably have a much better chance at bagging one on Fort Robinson if you don't use an outfitter.

I was playing golf in Omaha a few years ago and had about 20 walk up to us on the golf course.

Could have easily taken a huge gobbler with my driver.

Stupid birds.

Nebraska is a lot of fun. Great populations of birds in the area around Curtis. Trouble is; there’s not much in the way of pure Merriam’s there. They are all Merrios. I’ve harvested ones that look classic Rio and quasi Merriam out of the same flock.

If looking for a pure Merriam with the classic presentation (frosted white tips) try Wyoming or the desert Southwest.

We went to Nebraska in the Northeast corner near Iowa and South Dakota several years ago. We were killing Merriam's/Eastern hybrids over that way. Lots of fun and a lot different hunting than I'm used to in AL/MS

My front lawn yesterday and today. They are reminding me that Thanksgiving is over.
