I have the elite 7 HDI and I am not happy with the detail of the gps mapping. I mainly fish Bayou black, Des allemands, and the lake Veret area. What options are out there? I know with the HDS7 you can basically download google earth to a card and go that route. Any ideas? Google earth would be really all I need.

Put "paging WHODAT" in your thread title.

And look at some of his recent posts.

What's your email address? I'll be getting the Elite7HDI soon.

Or just shoot an email to boomroasted225@gmail.com if you don't want to post it here. I'm truly looking forward to actually having satellite images on the GPS instead of the BS factory maps.

Will probably be looking for something like this, Not sure what electronics the boat I'm buying currently has but will most likely be upgrading soon after purchase.

Natty Lite just get a SD Card and give it to cootdiscootdat, I have a bunch of places saved on my computer, or I can make a map for wherever you want.

these cards are the best I've seen. I have 2 of them 1 for bayou black & the other for the spilway. They are worth the money.

Check out legend cartography card

its all of south la from texas to miss. It's 200 bucks and worth it better quality than standard maps. I made my own so it will work for now, using the you tube video (search how to make maps for hds)

I've been making my own. The compressed .AT5's are small but the downloaded tiles are huge. How much area are you covering?

I do the area I want and let it go overnight and download. Now I tried to do the whole sela area and it wouldn't create the map for some reason but it did download. I'm trying somthing out right now on mine. Will report back

Is it easy to make maps for the Lawrence Elite 5-HDI? I'm in the same boat (not literally) as the OP ... my maps are poo trash.

Yes they are easy, when loading the at5s onto a card i rename them to the area, example: grandisle1.at5, etc.. made my unit run way faster.

How does one create these maps? I would like to make some for Hopedale, Shell Beach, Delacroix, and Bayou Bienvenue.

So hds maps will work on an Elite 5-HDI? If so would you be feeling gracious enough to share with me? If so I will send you a Freespool fishing shirt as a thank you.
