Yea ive gotten pretty large areas. Now Im trying to do from Rigolets down to Venice and over to Cocodrie (including GI). Im at zoom level 20. Did you figure out how to zoom in on a tile (for instance if max downloaded tile is zoom level 20, zoom in on that tile in lowrance)?

thats a huge area, i broke my maps down to areas like venice, rigloets, grand isle, leeville, dularge, etc.. and it works great and downloads faster. i do zo0ms 14 16 and 20. the resolution when you create the map determines the zoom on the unit. i do 1 thru 16 you can do up to 64 for tighter zoom. i have a elite 7 and zoom 20 is plenty enough using resoultion 1 thru 16. plus when you load the at5 files to the card, rename them for the area example- grandisle1.at5 it made my unit faster for some reason.

Interesting. I already have pretty much all of LA1. My concern with zoom level higher than 20 is because Im in a yak. 20 is tight but Id like tighter if I can get it. I think you can zoom in and be pixelated but havent figured out how yet.

Is there a way to turn off certain areas if you have multiple areas on the card? Only way I know how is to eject the card all together.

ETA: in yak using small Elite 4 HDI

shoot I'd love to have all the south la done. I have most of it. And I do zoom 20 and can zoom in on my gps to 200 ft scale. That's pretty close. And yes the 4 is a small unit so it's harder to see. My buddy does just zoom 18 and does resolution 1 through 64 I haven't tried it
