I have a buddy of mine who's thinking of offloading a couple of his. Yes, a couple because he currently has 3 or 4.

I don't want to get in the middle of the Polaris/Honda pissing match but as someone else stated, take a look at the Kubota RTV's. They are more for work than hauling arse through a field, but nothing will outpull them. We have a diesel 900 UTV in camo and it is badass. It is much heavier than most side by sides, but we use the hell out of it at the camp. We use it more for work purposes but we do take it out to the box stands as well. They are a little more pricey, but we have had ours for almost 5 years with little or no maintenance.

My buddy that sells them said that with any load (mud, hills, etc) that it's range drops dramatically. Like 5-10 miles.

This is true, in the hill country where I hunt we had a guy on our ranch that would constantly call us because his would die

I had a Polaris sportsman 550 that burned up in a fire while it was being serviced. I got insurance for it and went with a ranger 500 EFI. Only had it a couple of weeks now but I like it so far. It's a midsize and its a little bit bigger than a 4-wheeler, actually more longer than wider. Polaris says it will still fit in the back of a truck but won't on my Toyota tundra (short bed)

Dude, seriously, I had the same damn thing happen to me earlier this summer, only with a Polaris Ranger; and my dad had a Ranger burn up on him, too. Belt drive was what caused his fire, but I had a ball joint go out, and it caught on fire when I hit the ditch.

I know a guy that sells Stealth and said every single one he sold has been brought back in for warranty work. Said it is never major, but every one has come back for something and their parts dept sucks.

Mine wasn't quite under those circumstances, I took it to my buddies for its first service and his building was struck by lightening and burned down.

Maybe it's just the Polaris Rangers. I'm pretty sure where my fire started was the belt drive, but I didn't give a damn about checking. I picked up my hat off where the seat used to be, saw a flame, put the seat back on, and somehow got out of the ditch. It died on me on the road and burnt to a crisp in five minutes. Just glad I wasn't knocked unconscious when I hit the windshield.
