You need at least two, maybe 3 boats to cover all of your intended uses

Ideally? Sure. But all of those can be accomplished with say a Cuda 12 pretty comfortably.

I think you can make the change while on the water, but not certain.

I use a stringer. I know its a good day when I have to lift the stringer out of the water on the long paddle back to the launch. Others use insulated soft fish bags, others hard ice chests. Depends on the size and quantity of fish too.

5 big reds I wouldn't wanna drag around, but a couple small bass or some slabs is no big deal.

I use a stringer while I'm fishing one spot. When I'm ready to move, I transfer the fish to the soft ice chest.

I rented one because it was all they had. Got pushed around by the wind. It was a rough day.

peddles can be pulled up in 5 seconds while on the water

also can probably move using the peddles in around 8" of water. just don't fully extend

Thats nice. Peddles won't get me upstream on the ohiopyle or clarion rivers though. Thats why I want the jet kayak. I could launch and go 10 miles up river and do a two day float back without any help with a shuttle.

I'm getting a kayak soon as well and have been looking for something used. Threads like this make me want to just go ahead and get a new one.

You can spend $25 or you can spend $400.

Aluminum paddles at $25 will work fine, but if you want to get a lighter paddle, check out the fiberglass Bending Branches paddles around $100.

Buy used unless you're absolutely positive you're not going to go a few times then put it to the side.

That's my thought process as well, I just hadn't been able to find what I'm looking for. I missed a Native Magic and a Perception Pescador that would have been great deals. I had decided that if I couldn't find anything decent used I'd go for the Pescador or the Ascend that are both linked in the OP.
