Do not use 2,4 d on actively growing St. Augistine.

This is the full strength stuff in a small size. I use it.

LINK

It will wipe out broadleaf weeds.

I was told by my grandfather and uncle who are both farmers, that it's fine to put on St. Augustine. I don't think you would have a problem either way as long as you don't over do it.

Burning grass too- as a pre-emerge though.

It's fine. Just use a light dose.

You'll see it takes a good while to kill the other shite, and the st aug will kind of faulter. but not much and will fill in thick

You're all crazy. As long as my yard isn't muddy, and my daughter doesn't get lost in the weeds, I'm good.

This. Plus, when it's high the stray ca.... Coons think they are hiding. Easier to pick them off.

I bought Weed Free Zone, which contains 2,4-d and some other herbicides that are safe for St. Augustine. Got it at the local Co-op.

I just mix it in a pump sprayer and spot spray the weeds. I did it on Monday. My yard is barely starting to show some green spots.

I've had good luck with Weed Free Zone. Word of caution, though - use it in cool weather only. Person at nursery said it was OK in warm weather. Fail.

Less is more. Don't get all sucked into the spaying of shite all year long for the different seasons. The grass will do what it's supposed to do. Like another poster said, raise your blades....it will help your lawn be thicker and more plush.

Cutting high is beneficial for centipede and St. Augustine lawns. Bermuda grass should be cut shorter. Also, sharp mower blades >>> dull blades!

This could be true, but pushing through thick st. aug is a bitch. I think it looks better when its short.
