If I remember correctly, most do. There were a lot that didn't, but most of them were admin.

No, they are issued, but there is no policy to wear them. Some agents do, some don't. Most in my region didnt/don't.

I haven't worked at HQ in over 4 years. The last large purchase that went through while I was there was iPads. That left a lot of heads being scratched.
A large majority of agents that I dealt with did not wear vest. It was not uncommon to see ones wearing them though. Difficult to wear a vest and lifejacket though.

Bet it would suck to wear one all day outside in Louisiana heat with the rest of their gear.
Also I would wager many have the mindset that it is an acceptable risk to go without since many of the hunters they encounter pack high powered rifles which a bulletproof vest is useless against.
Prayers for the agent and hope they catch the POS.

Friend of my moms lost her son back in the early 90's when 2 POS hit him in the back of the head with a boat paddle while he was searching their boat on the Ouachita river (I think). Knocked him out and threw him in the river.
Hope they catch the perp soon but like it was stated earlier about 15-30 mins before radioing in he had been apprehended.

Made me sick to my stomach to read that. The trash in this state knows no bounds.

An anonymous source tells us the agent was shot in the left side. He is currently being assessed in an emergency room by a physician with a possible spinal cord injury. He is currently in critical, but stable condition.
From the KNOE Facebook.

Who's the agent that was shot? I know of one up there and Swartz is my old stomping ground. This sickens me to hear.
Prayers to the officer, their family, and every LEO working the tragedy hunting this POS.

Haven't heard the agents name. Heard there were 2 suspects one in custody. I hope the other is brought out in a body bag.

Police have named Luke Hust, 29, as the suspect who shot a Wildlife and Fisheries agent this evening in the Russel Sage Wildlife Management Area.
Tonight, around 6:40 p.m., two Wildlife and Fisheries Agents were making a routine stop when one of the agents believed the driver, Hust, was impaired.
The agent was walking back to his vehicle when officials say Hust fired at the agent with a hand gun. The agent was shot in the lower back.
The other agent returned fire, and the shooter ran into the woods. Officials believe the shooter was not hurt. The agent who fired his gun called for help and caught the passenger in suspect's vehicle.
About 15 minutes later, the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office got there and took the injured agent to St. Francis Hospital.
The agent remains in serious condition at this hour.
Multiple law enforcement agencies have established a perimeter in the area.
They say the suspect is armed and dangerous.
