heard that on the radio. Isn't that pond just a shallow mudhole?

I was born and raised in the south and moved further south so my knowledge of Rainbow trout is at best limited so help me out. I was under the assumption that Rainbow trout needed running water to thrive in. You know rocky little streams and shallow swift rivers and the like. Did Girard park install some sort current producing machine as well or are these little guys more adaptable than I'm giving them credit for?

No idea, but if it is, they should be easy to catch.

BREC stocks them every year I think. They die once the water warms up. You can catch them on fly, but if you want to rack up, canned corn and marshmallows will put the hurt on them.

We used to do work on them a few years ago. Just chum the water a little with half a can of corn and its on.

I agree.... also filled with countless plastic bags from bread , floating bread because the fish/ducks are over fed, nutria, obnoxious geese, and dead bodies (drowning this past spring)

I'm guessing the trout would have a better survival rate at Beaver Park

Girard Park

A bunch of them. I'll try and find some old links. If I remember correctly, it's typically the first week of the new year.

ETA: LINK FROM LAST YEAR

I went out there today at during lunch, didm't get a bite. I was fly fishing, but I'm guessing the pond hadn't been stocked yet. Only fish i saw was a dead carp floating. will try again tomorrow

went again today at lunch. had one bite and had a trout follow my fly in but no strikes.
A guy and his lady friend had 8 rainbows, all caught on a silver knock-off rooster tail. As soon as i tied on a silvery pistol pete fly is when i had the little action.
