I see more Prerunner TRDs than otherwise. Mostly Sports, but I still see more TRD Offroad Prerunners than 4Xs. I say this since my son makes a point to call out every Tacoma he sees.

would need a dang calculator around here to count the tr's. I know some kids that get daddy to buy em a truck, then order the decals from toyota.

makes no sense to me

I have the TRD Offroad 4x4

no clue why someone would pay more for the Offroad package and it not be a 4x4

and about the short bed, we put 4 kayaks in the back of an avalanche with a bed extender and they rode no problem

I think the perfect Tacoma is an access cab long bed offroad 4X. It's not the direction I went, but still I think that's the best truck they make.

I thought you were in the Pacific NW. I rarely see 4x4 TRDs on the road here. I see a lot of 2wd ones around, though. I envy the 2wd fuel mileage.

The hood scoop is serious.

ETA - the side mirrors on TRDs are definitely nicer. Maybe the e-locker could help pulling a boat out of the water. That's all I got.

I can't get 15 mpg even if I baby mine. Somewhere between 13.8 and 14.6, even on the hwy. I just did a 4k+ mile road trip and I checked it on every fill up until I just got tired of calculating it. Range is terrible, ~250 miles a tank, as well. IDGAF about the mpg, but hell I'd like to get 400 miles on a fill up.

Don't mind me...carry on

I get around 21 in my '12 Frontier on the highway, 2wd though.

Frontier >>> Tacoma

I know I will be the only one that says that
Driven a taco several times, great trucks.

That's embarassing. That new Chevy diesel truck better be worth a shite.

I think it's because 6th gear in my manual is really bizarre. Seems like they geared it to be for the 4Lo feature, shifting into 4th going less than 20 mph in 4Lo is a hoot, and they had no idea how to work an overdrive gear into the mix. They probably stop the autos from shifting into 5th and 6th, but they can't do that to the manuals. I love the truck though. Driving it in 4Lo over rocky trails is about the most fun thing I've ever done in a vehicle, it really acts solid and precise. Absolutely no slop anywhere.

So, you're the guy who puts a lift on a 2WD truck...
