Well I put down a deposit on a Ranger RT188 today so the dealership can start rigging out the boat. I can not wait to go pick that thing up and do a little fishing in it. I have not heard a single bad thing about these boats. Anyone already have one?

My setup:
Ranger RT188 dual console
Yamaha 115 4stroke
Lowrance Elite 7 on console
Lowrance 3 on front deck
70# Minn Kota 24 volt trolling motor

The thing I went back on forth on the most was the motor. Yamaha is doing a promotion you get a 6 yr warranty with the purchase of a 4stroke motor (I think it last until the end of the month). The warranty promotion was pretty much the dealmaker.

Nice boats. You buy it at aqua? My buddy Bryce works there and I know the owners well. Great place and you will be happy with the ranger. I haven't heard one bad thing about them, and they are nicer then the xpress for sure.

Good deal glad you had a good experience. They do all my maintenence on my motors and have always been helpful.

As far as price I think lower 20s before tax and accessories

Nice boat!

You can turn a $20k boat into a $100k pretty quickly.

Got mine 3 weeks ago. You're gonna love it. walked out of Cabelas at 29k TTL. Bought Power pole, HDS7 touch, and elite 4chirp on the side. Upgraded to 80#fortrex, and had them add a hot foot and blinker trim. Jumps out the water and rolls for a 115. Fishes and has storage like a 21' glass bass boat.

I put some thought into upgrading to the Yammy SHO, but it was an $1200 increase at Aqua. Couldn't pull the trigger. I have been looking for a used Xpress for a few years now came close to making a purchase a few times, but something would stop me. I think I'm glad I waited and ended up getting a Ranger. The fit and finish on these boats seems to be top notch.

How long does the break in period take for the Yammy?

It was $400 upgrade at cabelas for the SHO. I got rid of an 18' xpress and while they are nice....this Ranger is a Ranger. Top shelf to the xpress imo. I got the camo because while I mainly bass and panfish....i i still have other options and theres no way i was putting trout slime, crabs, and duck blood in a carpeted boat like yours. I like to keep my stuff too clean and vacuuming the xpress aftet every trip sucked. Worms from the wife and kids...

Break in wasnt bad. Hr 1 at 2000 rpm, hr 2-3 on plane then back down to 3000 rpm. Hr 4-10 wot but no longer than 5 min at a time. I put 4.5 hrs the saturday i took delivery, then ran 92 miles in a bass tourney the sunday.

ETA: put $14k of my 19k down payment on my cabelas card, paid off, and got back 3% which helped pay for almost half the power pole. Cabelas also installed everything for free and gave me 2 matching camo life jackets. Ask ur dealer for a Ranger wear card. They are hooking me up with $100 to spend on Ranger apparel...2 shirt a hat and a visor from whay i saw on the site...

At first I was going to get the rawhide finish, but enough buddies have boats with no carpet that is decided to get the carpet. Also, I'm going to take the boat on some fishing trips and I heard standing up on the rough finish could take a toll.

I have a feeling we might of jumped on these boats early in the game. If the word keeps getting out the price is going to start going up just the xpress boats. I know a few guys that just bought a few Xpress X19's and they paid around 38k! That just seems crazy. They do have 200 hp motors and go 60-70 mph but that's all they have on the Ranger, and 50mph is plenty for me.

I think they've increased the price 3-5% since they came out in late '13 or early '14...

I was searching for options for installing a radio and I think I came across your post on BBC asking the same question. Did you ever install a radio and if you did what setup did you go with?
