ISO British Lab puppy

Hey guys, in search of a British Lab puppy. Preferably black and female. Any suggestions on where to look? She will be a duck hunting dog. Thanks!!!

how far are you willing to travel?
And what is your definition of breaking the bank? Most will be around $1000-1500 as puppies.
Duckhill Kennels just outside of Memphis.
Its a kennel owned and run by Robert Milner.
He was the 1st to start importing british labs when he owned (and started) Wildrose Kennels.

Southern Oak Kennels, Okolona
All three kennels have a direct line to UK and Irish lineage. All great kennels but pups will be in $2000-2300 range without training. SLK does use e-color enforcement but other two do not.

Huntfield kennels
In Union Church Mississippi, (South West MS), we got a red female there a few years ago, she has been great and I was impressed with the owners and facility.

I have a female from Duckhill that is 8 years old and would not buy another. That place looked like a puppy mill so we feel like we rescued this crazy girl.

e-collar=electronic collar, also known as a shock collar. It applies an electronic shock to the dog generally on a collar around his neck. The shock is a result of a remote control hand device operated by the trainer to correct negative actions of the dog.

Milner is another one of the charlatan marketing idiots. Way too many people take those guys opinions as facts but that the way they market their mutts. A good dog is a good dog no matter what side of the pond. They never tell anyone about the duds, rainbows and unicorn farts.

the English, or "British" lab is not as an accomplished hunter/athlete as it's "American" counterpart. Not as energetic, nor longwinded. Good luck.

At field trials? Yes you’re correct. They typically are not trained to follow a straight line but rather to get to the game the fastest. If that means going around the pond to get the bird on the land on the other side, then they have to think for themselves.
Not as energetic? Correct, their less neurotic and most of the time much more laid back and may be smarter.
Long winded?
WTH? That comes with conditioning.

That’s because they are. Sorry you don’t know better.
And Kemo, Milner has been breeding and training dogs for 40 yrs. has literally written books on it.
Not all litters of pups will be full of world class field champion dogs.
You prefer what you want. Mine is a British. I chose him because of their calm demeanor and I had small kids when I got him.
He was one of the best hunters I’ve hunted with but he Is/was a pet first.
