It is my opinion only that the majority of Law enforcements mission is to make revenue. They would rather write a ticket and move on than worry about it sticking.
They prolly lose no sleep or have any worry after the ticket is written. That said, when the situation is kinda murky, they err on the side of ticket writing as it protects them and generates revenue for the state and their departments.

Well that makes more sense, and being that the feds have guidelines for using flooded fields and all, that the LADP were obviously not I'm compliance with.

It's also painfully obvious from the article that if you have.money senators will speak up for you, even if they have no clue what they are talking about.

Yes,

State needs funds. Badly. All state funded law enforcements are funded from state revenue.

Which is why I think laws on autos, boats, registrations etc are so deep and complex. Theres a high probability of a violation compared to how many folks drive cars and boats.

Like I said, it's my opinion.

What do u want me to site?
A federal regulation.

Heck, he shut down the entire LADP for half a duck season saying a hurrican baited a field.
It may have.

Try to define "Sphere of Influence" - Thats how the WLF determine how much geography is deemed baited. Ur neighbor baits his field.... Can u hunt? Are you inside the "Sphere of Influence?" The agent will decide that...... And you had absolutely nothing to do with it.
This hypo has nothing to do with that.

But, if you are caught - u will be ticketed for hunting over a baited field.
Why?

I have a couple good friends that are green jeans and they both talk all the time about how they have to go the extra distance to make sure what they are charging for is gonna stick.

The parish that we write the ticket in gets it. The only ticket we write where we get the money is litter,bc the law stipulates the agency that writes the ticket gets a portion.

That's true, unlike regular popos that may issue tickets or make arrests based off statements from witnesses or victims, we don't operate like that. Chances are if you're getting the ticket, you were being watched as you messed up.

I had some idiot at the launch tell me he uses yellow aquarium rocks...

WTF Man? hone your skills and do it the right way!

I don't get the whole fake bait and baiting scenarios to attract ducks to your pond.

remember this "a Bad day hunting is better than a good day at work"

...it's being out there that counts...

Re: LADP issue.... All the LWF guys gave us the go ahead, said it wasnt baited and they werent writing any tickets for baiting. It was Shriver with the USWLF that came in and shut it down. The state boys were pretty perturbed about it...... And in the end, it seemed to be a point-proving mission by the feds.

When referencing the OP, like you stated in your earlier post that you probably wouldt write a ticket, but know 10 ppl that would..... I strongly believe all the fed boys that Ive ever met would.....

All that to say, Im not chancing it.... And suggest to OP not to do so either.

Talking LDWF revenue. I always wondered where does all the oil/gas and timber revenue go? The state owns a lot of land. I brought a timber guy out to look at a piece of land I was thinking about buying. It was next to a WMA. He said the WMA had some serious timber $$$ sitting there.
