He is saying that the plywood is painted to simulate grain and corn and that is considered baiting and he has written tickets for yellow painted metal tin ponds. It's the same principal

I thought the plywood was just to mark the baited pond so the ducks associate it with food and when you throw it in the unbaited pond they think there's food in it. But there's not.

Without calling any wl&f agents or judges I have a hard time seeing that charge sticking. Not saying they won't ticket for it but personally feel it would be thrown out. Agent would have to document location and feed prior to catching them.

so if you throw yellow rocks on the ground that looks like corn, is that baiting? what about those sweet corn buck bombs? they are meant to smell like corn, thus simulating corn. illegal?

I don't duck hunt I'm just curious how for this would go.

also, how would a blank white board simulate corn or grain? they may associate it with food but it doesn't simulate food.

We didn't necessarily want to, but we hunted with a bunch of outlaws and figured out after a few years that we wouldn't see does regularly without it

Not really outlaws, but they weren't coming around our stands when there was food at every other stand

Side question, Do any of you believe ducks have a good sense of smell?

I have heard and read in more than 1 location of people baiting using burlap sacks full of sweet potatoes submerged so that they released a sweet smell the ducks like
