Damn, my 4th seems incredibly boring compared to some of y'all's.

It's a pretty big holiday around here. We start on the 3rd with the soapbox derby, and fireworks at midnight. Stuff going on all day til around midnight tonight. Really good bands out there, was surprised at the talent.

Had some of these guys

Dogs n frisbees

and guys jumping off mountains

Soapbox derby winner

Love the 4th. It's up there with Christmas as my favorite holiday.

Watched the John Adams movie, cooked for a lot family, lit fireworks with the little family types, drinking old scotch now. Let's chalk this one in the win column.

Actually it's a mix of different styles of food, but a Middle Eastern rice dish is among them.

Did ya wear red white and or blue? Did you take a moment to remember those who fought and are fighting? Did you listen to the star spangled banner? Did ya start your meal of shared food with a prayer of thanks?

Nothing wrong with the melting of cultures as long as you identify yourself as American. Hell hot dogs are pretty freaking American on the 4th and they have German roots.
