You're probably right- we just drop $3 or 4k on ice machines, like they're disposable...

I personally wouldn't purchase a yeti, I have no need for one, my uses of a cooler require me to lift it often as well. its not for me. Some people use the benefits. Some people buy it as a status symbol and rarely use as was designed, as well as, are burdened by the effects of some of the design features(added weight and bulk) and don't care.
Just like in the jeep world I see the guy rolling around in a rubicon, who has never seen gravel, let alone dirt. Then there is the guy abusing the hell out of it, like he stole it. To each his own, spend your money on what you want, just don't bitch about being broke.

I've never had a problem with my cheap igloo holding "block ice" in the middle of the summer.

I have been freezing water in my son's 32 oz. apple juice bottles. I have 4 for use any time.

Cheaper coolers with less insulation will hold ice better than more expensive ones if you don't cool the better insulated cooler first or fill it until air space is minimized. Even Yeti makes this claim.

So if you trap warmer air, or have large air spaces the cheaper one will perform as well.

I found a plastic storage tub, that is roughly half the size, but same contour as the bottom of my current cooler. I cut down the sides, and make blocks that fit nicely in the bottom of my cooler. works great and save space

my company is a snap on, matco, mac dealer as well. I see it every day. I personally have a nice Matco 80"
, but it is used right. some snap on etc.. stuff is worth for the right people, some is wasted. Some people just buy it because they can make weekly payments
, Ive seen dealers sell $300 dewalt drills, that cost $100 at lowes

Do you put the extra bags in Yeti's to use when the igloo with the broken latches top comes off and melts half your ice?
