Only one I missed was the rut trigger, and where I hunt it doesn't matter whether I think the rut has started or not.

A. No. The rut is triggered by “photoperiod,” which is the length of daylight.

B. No. The rut is triggered when does enter estrus.
Feedback:Partially true. But the better answer is A. A shortened photoperiod causes does to go into estrus just like it causes bucks to rut. A hormone called melatonin is produced by the pineal gland in response to the onset of darkness. When it reaches a certain level in the blood plasma, it induces estrus. C. Don’t know. No one has figured out what causes a buck to begin breeding. D. Yes, a buck generally will not begin rutting until after a significant temperature drop.
