When you can see the air in them it's time for new ones.

On my car, I'm going to change them whenever the get to the indicators. On my truck, I just kinda go off of when I think they're getting to be un-safe.

On an RV or trailer, I go by age. 5-7 is pushing it. Over 7, change them.

On the wife's or baby's car, change em at 5 years.

My truck,,I'll go about 45K. Wet traction usually gets crappy at 40+.

Sports cars are only good for about 20-25K.

When your driving and you hear that Big Bang and when you stop to check you notice a chunk of tread is gone. It's time to get new tires.

Nope, they have the right amount just very crap tires...my buddy works for robinson bros and he said they never last on any of the 4x4 trucks...they are a cheap wannabe all terrain.

Think of the price of having someone wipe your arse for life after your tire blows out on the interstate and you veer under a chicken truck

Go get you some tires

I sold my pirellis and got nittos the first week I had the truck

I'm at 41k now and still have a nice chunk of tread left

Those pirellis don't last long at all

Fixing your car, hospital bills, lost pay from being out of work from a blow out and wreck sounds more expensive than replacing tires.

I still have my snow tires on right now but will be changing over in a few weeks. I dont mess around with worn tires.

I keep 10 ply tires on the truck and whatever I feel like is the best out there on the car.

Absolutely no reason to go cheap on tires. I'm paranoid about them.

oh i don't know when your car hydroplanes and you kill a friend family member because your are so fricking cheep!
Great trait i may add, I at one time knew people like you but not anymore it was too painful to watch the dick like you count out the money for the bar tab that everyone kicked in for and take his money out because we all paid her him well because we always did and they tossed a few pitchers. Thats your deal not mine I hope your cheep arse doesn't kill my family because I hope you gave your heart to jesus because you arse will be mine and the the judge court and jury won't FIX it like your use too.

You have an the TulaneUVA sig why? I have no Idea, but I know many friends from UVA and they are bright enough to flip open the tire manual thats included with the fricking car to decipher the wear indicators, but you have a billion fricking posts so you gotta be smart to come here to ask this inane question. It all depends on if it's my tires or the wife's tires

For street tires, put a penny with lincoln's head down in the treads. If you can see the top of his head it's time to change them.

This and let me add that in a fair amount of cases it's not the lack of tread but if they become dry rotted.....tires usually start dry rotting in year 3.

Dry Rotting scares the hell out of me. I have some BFG AT that I got about two years ago and are starting to show some dry rot at the base of the belt. That worries me, while I don't feel I have gotten the life out of the tires I should have I will likely change tires in the coming months. As others have said safety first.

I have 17k on my Pirells and they are showing bad wear on the outside. rotated with every oil change...im ready for them to be shot really. i am replacing them with cooper st maxx...also check out cooper at3s. the toyo ats and nitto ats are also good. please don't put street tires back on a 4x4...just don't.

Cooper ST Maxx should never be put in the same sentence as anything toyo or nitto. The ST Maxx is a beast with 3 ply sidewalls and one of the most rugged tires you can buy. Toyo's and nitto's are for mall crawlers.

Nitto does have some models with 3 ply sidewalls but are not in the same league as the st maxx.
