Please for the love of god, if you get HIDs then switch your housing to a projector.

OEM reflector housings are not meant for HIDs. You will be scattering light everywhere

If you are going to upgrade do it right and retrofit projectors into your factory lights. If you don't you'll be blinding oncoming traffic.

You can get a full retrofit kit from the retrofit source.

Get the kind that are extremely bright and angle into oncoming traffic. Those are awesome.

I'd only do a swap in a vehicle with projectors with a cutoff, otherwise swap the whole rig out with aftermarkets.

You're the kind of guy I turn all the lights on for when stopped facing you at a redlight.

You want to blind me with crap bulbs, I'm melting your paint off with 4 hid spots and a few hidden LEDs.

You can get cheap projectors on amazon for the retrofit. E45s I believe.

Don't be that douche. If you need brighter lights get dedicated off road lights.

I had some douche this morning behind me with this crap, I let him go around me. it looks like shite

I have the factory hids on my f150 and they were aimed up from factory I always got flashed. after the level kit I re aimed them down and I never have issues not even pulling my boat.

as others said don't be cheap get a projector housing.

I had someone do that the other day, I slowed down to 30 and he still wouldn't pass me up, only rode closer.

I'm on board with the others here who suggested you swap them out in a projector. I did a retrofit on my old vehicle and it had a very sharp cutoff line with really good spread (probably about 160 degree coverage on the road).

I have Phillips LMZ LED plug and play headlights right now. They have a decent cutoff line in a factory housing and I made sure to reaim them after installation. Never get flashed or anything. Make sure you have enough room at the back of your headlight housing for the heat sink and fan.

I currently have projector lens with HIDS. How do these LEDS compare to the brightness?

I also need to fix the outside as its starting to oxidize.

Thank you for that. Hopefully by the sound of the other responses people are getting away from being that guy.

shite burns my arse when people have Shitty HID kits in reflector housings blinding everyone around them with their blue lights.

A projector retrofit would be the best option, however you'd have to get someone to do it($$$) or do it yourself which can be quite a chore if you've never looked into it.

If you do just want to swap to LED bulbs (LED > HID) then make sure you re-aim them. Park about 50ft from a wall, turn on your lights and put a piece of tape where the top part of the cutoff is. Swap in the LED bulbs and adjust them so that the cutoff line is close to the tape line.

ETA: Don't bother with the cheap aftermarket headlights with the projectors already built in, most, if not all are total trash.
