I'm looking to get one for my teenage sons. There's a million sites when you google it, but I wanted to see if anyone here has a good recommendation.

Are we talking 13 or 19?

Get them made and keep them until they graduate college is my opinion. I've lost so many knives especially at that age to count it makes me laugh. I've only kept and know where 2 knives I purchased at that age now.

ETA: frick, I don't know where my Benchmade Grip or my little Buck knife is now

16 and 14.

They have other knives, this is more of a heirloom kind of thing.

Now you can get a proper 940.

Dad gave me one 10 or so years ago.
Love that thing even if it isn't the greatest knife in the world.

This may be a little convoluted, but worth a shot. I frequent a deer hunting forum for Alabama deer hunters. website is aldeer.com

There is a guy on there who's handle is Skullworks. He makes some kick arse knives. Does a lot with Damascus Steele. Real high quality stuff.

You can join the forum and send him a private message. He is a jam up guy

Those are some gorgeous knives.

I made one knife a few years ago (and burned out the motor in my belt grinder). I've been watching Forged in Fire lately and thinking seriously about setting something up in the garage and trying my hand at it again.

Those are truly amazing links to those knives. I am way too poura country boy to pay that much for a knife however even if ya moved the decimal one place left. My folding knife is an old timer(aptly named. My special knife is a bowie hand crafted by my grand pa it came to me free but in my world it is priceless

It'll turn up in a hunting bag somewhere. It always does.

I own one, my work beater knife. NOT a 940 though.

This guy had a booth at the Red River Revel last week. High quality work, uses AISI 52100 tool steel, and not astronomically priced. I seriously considered a large chef's knife with custom burlap micarta handle scales but I really need a bench top wood planer before investing in anything single-edged again...
