Any feedback on these two options? Thinking about picking both up. I really want to like the Springfield Mod 2's, but I just can't get over that obnoxious GRIP ZONE tag.

I know the 17's reputation speaks for itself. I guess I'm asking more so about the 43. Still considering the M&P as well for a CC option.

Any input is appreciated

You may want to look at the G19.

I'm kind of in the same boat between the G19 and G43. Do I go slimmer with fewer rounds or do I go a little bit bulkier with a lot of rounds?

I can't decide one way or the other.

I totally intend on getting a full-size and a single stack.

Why the 19 over the 17 though?

i have a 19 and it's way more concealable than a 17.

Buy the 17, chop the grip to 19 size.

I assume, and correct me if I am wrong, you are referring to the marketing aspect of the tag...

I have 2 of the 9mm mod 2's. the 3" barrel and the full size.. I like both... the 3" is my everyday carry.

On the other hand, the Glocks are good hand guns no doubt. Can't go wrong with either.

I'm not concerned with concealing the 17. It will be a bedside/console gun. The 43 will fit that bill.

I honestly don't even care if I print some while carrying. I have a permit to carry and it's my constitutional right. The haters can kiss my arse.

The best of both worlds, if you wanna conceal it, you can conceal it easily. If you decide you want it for bedside gun you can buy a 17 magazine and you're ready to roll. The 19 fits more roles than any other pistol I have ever owned.

I agree. I have several 9mm Glocks (17, 19, 26, 17L, 34 and 43). I carry the 19 all day, every day, with a G17 mag -- and have carried it for well over a decade.

This I can't agree with. Check out this thread LINK

Two major underlying tenets of CCW are (a) other people don't know you're armed and (b) even if they suspect you're armed, they don't know where it is.

Having your weapon printing through your clothing isn't illegal ---- but it does advertise your gun's position to anyone who might want to execute a gun grab. Nobody wants to fight for their gun, even if they're trained in gun retention techniques. And most people don't have this training.
.
.

eta: I sometimes carry the G43, but it's strictly a BUG for me (as is my 9mm Shield). The G43 and the G26 are much harder to shoot well compared to the G19 (I define "shoot well" as rapid rate of fire while getting good hits). I also find that (for me) the G17, G34 and G17L don't make it appreciably easier to "shoot well."

There is a very specific point (law of diminishing returns) where shorter barrel length and smaller grip make a gun harder for me to shoot. The G19 falls in that "sweet spot" that's "just right." (Apparently that's what the FBI determined when they picked the G19 as the gun they will be issuing to their agents.)

The 19 would split the difference between the 17 and 43 but since you are going to get a 43, you are right to want the 17 w/ its extra rounds, bigger site radius, and bulk to handle recoil. The Glocks are awesome pistols. They will eat anything you feed them. Cleaning is easy and there are a ton of after market parts for you to customize to your hearts content. If you have bigger hands, get a gen 3 for cheaper, if not, get the gen 4 w/ removable backstrap. Great pistols. Really easy to install a 3.5 lb ghost trigger to make the pull smooth and really light. Highly recommend.
