I've tried to quit like four different times ranging from 4 weeks to 5 months...

Days 3 - 5 are ALWAYS the hardest

hang in there

I quit a month ago after 8 years. So far I'm really happy with this decision.

Like others have said, I feel lost sometimes. Fishing, drinking alcohol, watching movies.

A big helper for me is salted peanuts in the shell.

I waited til the month our twins were born which made number 2 and 3.
Had to do something if I want to keep moving up though.

Just start dipping again and treat others the way you want to be treated.
Love your neighbor as you love yourself.

That's worth way more than any sacrifice you can make.

Every time you think about dipping, do what I did:

Dear Eight Pound, Six Ounce, Newborn Baby Jesus, don't even know a word yet, just a little infant, so cuddly, but still omnipotent. I'd like to ask for your power and support in not placing a pinch of personality between my cheek and my gum. Strike me down if I do so. Thank you, for all your power and your grace, Dear Baby God, Amen

I quit in November. Woke up one day and threw my can away. Still get cravings at the weirdest times, but it's mind over matter. You have to really want to quit to actually stick to it. I got through hunting season and my first shutdown of the year in January. On another shut down now and still going strong.

When I tried to quit, I grabbed a can of that Smokey Mountain stuff to help me. Stuff was so awful that I immediately drove to the gas station and bought a log and said screw it.
