The state has projects that they approved that the public has benefited from that they are going to have to answer for with private land owners. Catahoula lake being a big one of those that will have landowners lining up for compensation. The issue is going to start an avalanche of litigation.

I'm not sure I follow where you are going with this one. I'm not at all familiar with Catahoula lake so perhaps I'm not in the loops.

What is it exactly the state has done for land owners to feel like they are owed compensation?

Has to do with water level increase that impacted land owners up river of the flood control structure for the lake and they didn't get the proper documentation for the land impacted and flooded a bunch of acreage without consent or compensating those impacted.

From the creation of the structure.

Do you have a link or anything? I'm stumped. I can't seem to find anything. People have been annoyed with water level management for the better part of 40 years but I'm struggling to find out why anyone would think they are owed compensation from the state.

Raising the natural water level of a river and flooding hundreds of acres creating a lake on property that was once dry acreage without informing landowners of the impact.

All i know is LL&E and Apache are required to maintain their shorelines in terrebonne parish where my lease is located. Not sure if it's tied in with the CWPRA projects or what. But I do know they bring a dragline thru and maintain the shorelines annually.

You must be on Lake Decade. That is not related to CWPPRA.

All these restoration projects have ruined the duck hunting.

Got stopped in Bourg's Saturday and Sunday to check if we had our cards. With all the boats they ran out of there before us, can't help but wonder how long until it gets gated as well.

Them baws did have a cooler rig than I've ever seen before though. Inboard pirogue with a stick steer, they (2 old men in one pirogue!) were cruising in 10" of water no problem

I'm 3 doors down from you so we may have met before, but I can't recall seeing a younger guy over there. I also though there was a son in law of or someting that used to post on here?

eta: Dude was a huge dickhead one time and rolled up on us catching reds on this mudflat. Made us stop what we were doing and move and took a picture of the boat because I didn't have my "card" on me. Keep in mind I fish on that property a lot and he has seen me plenty of times without issue. He said he wasn't fishing but when I passed him later on, I saw 2 or 3 rods laying down in the boat.

Ole' uncle MSG. Named the place actually

Some friends and I stayed there for a few weeks for a class at LUMCON last June but since joining society I'm lucky to spend a weekend out of the month there.

They did the same to us Saturday, pics and all. I had to give them our absent neighbor's name since his other card has grandma's name on it.
You toward the canal or the highway?

Negative, further west.

And you can roll your eyes, but ponds with 1' of water or less hold good birds, those ponds stay over 2' now and hold divers. I'm interested to see what this new freshwater introduction does for the marsh. Other than spread the salvania.

All the stuff further west from Decade is CPRA activity, not oil companies
