Please refrain.

And stop your cousin Billy Bob from doing it as well.

Just found out my folks awoke New Years Day to go to breakfast only to find a hole in their carport and subsequent broken windshield on their new car.
Looked to be, from Dads account, a .40 or .45 cal bullet.

Seeing as how they reside within a half mile of the Alabama state line I will go on record here as saying there is a 95% probability that the culprit was wearing red and white with probable matching houndstooth accents.

That is all.

Climbed on a friends flat garage roof yesterday looking at something and saw a perfect hole. Could even see the projectile a half inch down. Looked to be a 9.

I've never understood the shooting in the air. If you're gonna shoot your gun, why not aim at the ground? Makes the same sound.

I went outside at midnight on new years eve and was just amazed at the number of gunshots that I could hear for about 15 minutes...I started thinking about all of those bullets coming down and got freaked out.

I recall years ago on Bastrop, La.
a guy had his family out in the yard shooting off fireworks on NYE.
One of the kids was looking up and a .22 hit him in the face missing his eye by inches. Got a scratch by was damn lucky it wasn't worst.

This reminds me about an uncle who shot his shotgun one NY E about 50 odd years ago in Nwalins. We had a party at his house and at the stroke of 12, he runs outside and shoots his 12 ga.

Before you get upset, he was pretty safe about it...
He shot the street light out. No one was hurt.
LOL

So a falling bullet went through the roof of the carport and a car windshield?

That's incredible.

I did read a story a year or so ago about a fella shooting a aught6 up in the air. It came down about a mile away and killed a young child.

That's about as unlucky as you can get, but like someone said earlier. What goes up must come down.

Sad deal.

Here it is...Muzzle Loader

yeah it is stupid and reckless. I have a hole in my patio cover roof from some a-hole that shot into the air.

I had a friend in Arkansas that had a bullet come through the ceiling in this living room this year.

As long as you're aiming high enough that the bullet loses velocity before it hits the ground, then it's no different than dropping a bullet off a roof. Now, a .45 cal bullet dropping on your head might hurt a bit, but it's not life-threatening or anything.
