What does everyone plant in their food plots and when do you typically plant?

Last yr we did a small plot of rye clover turnip mix. Tilled it mid sept then lime because of the pine trees, fertilize, seed all same day. They ate the turnip greens as fast as they could.

Buck buster mix is very good and very expensive. It's all expensive now days. So plant away if you got it, lol. I planted a no name mix last year that had all of what buck buster had in it for $10 a 50lb bag cheaper. Shop your co-ops for deals and read what's in your mix.

Anyone have a good no till mix to recommend for a small woods plot? Just trying to attract deer, not grow bucks.

Local seed company--seed available all over Louisiana and Mississippi--LSU developed oats

I don't deer hunt as much but still plant plots for my family and friends to hunt over. Guaranteed to grow. Easy to plant. A mix for most every need. Quick stand, forage oats, blends and brassicas.

I plant wheat and oats. I will usually top dress with a little clover also. My plots are already clipped and busted up. I will hit em with the disk a couple more times once the soil is moist . I typically plant in the first or second week of October . Amite county Ms
