95% of people do not need that. I mean hell, that works for towing heavier than 15k, but for lighter loads it is definitely not needed

I have towed ~17.5k with my truck having 650lb-ft. I have towed ~15k with 250lb-ft. You really dont need all of that broseph

Speaking of, I got a call from a friend yesterday who owns a 2008 chevy 5.3. 2k miles after an oil change he was 3.5 quarts low. 85k miles on the truck but the 5 years ran out in january so hes screwed.

95% of people don't need a 600hp Ferrari, but if it's there to have then people want it. Some people can't separate their needs from wants.

I have an FX2, could have afforded the FX4, but my truck is a DD and for what I do I should never need 4wd. Co-worker on the other hand has an FX4. The most off-road it has seen in 2 years is parking in grass by my house.

I beg to differ. They use is much more than you think. Have you ever been to a Ferrari track day?

My 2007 has only needed 1 quart on one occasion.

Negative but seeing as they don't have Ferrari track days that often in LA I would think they fall into the 5%.

Once a year, but there are also people coming from the entire southeast when they do have them. Last time I went, there were probably 75 Ferraris, and 30 other assorted other cars. They travel.

The average F250/350 owner isn't ever going to need all of that, which is my point. The Ferrari guys use it

I honestly know about 3 people who use a diesel pickup to the point that no gasser would cut it. They haul heavy at least 5 days a week for at least 3 hours a day. An uncle of mine has put 200k on a 6.0 chevy running a cattle operation. If he can get that kind of life out of a gasser, i dont see the average man actually needing a diesel. The new ones are a huge expense as well as a huge liability for more towing longevity than you will ever see.

Then we agree to disagree. I believe the average F250 owner uses its share of power more often than someone who owns a super car.

Best buy is #1, hands down.

Best truck overall, which will return the greatest $$$ on resale is #3.

6.7's have virtually no issues, excellent engine and the best diesel on the road.

$$$$.

I am noticing an odd trend, though.

As the diesel MSRP increases, it pulls up,the used price as well. Now this is not a new trend, but it is very noticeable w/ diesels. Take a look at what a 5-7 year old diesel is selling for, even with a 100K on the clock.
