The 6.7 is a great engine. I've heard that the 6.2 in the F-250 is slow and people wish they would have gotten the 6.7.

You can always look for an F-150 FX4 with the 6.2 and max tow package.

I have the 6.7 and love it, but it's a year old and has 15k miles so who wouldn't still love it. Yeah your gonna drop a bill on an oil change but that twice a year for me. Urea is a pain in the arse but it's not that big a deal. It signals you with 500 miles left. I just pull in auto zone when it does and dump the jug in. It takes 15 bucks or so (cant remember exactly) and 5 mins. I am nervous long term but if I have any signs of trouble I will sale the sucker.

I bought a 2013 F250 FX4 with the 6.2L in August. I love it, plenty power and will hang with the stock diesel.

Either one of those three trcuk will be nice, good luck!!

Back when I got mine, they only had the Plat. with the 6.2. Now, I am pretty sure that you can order any truck with the 6.2. He is talking about the XLT so the Fx4 is probably out of his price range.

I have not heard that. I know that its apples to oranges but I will run my truck against any other stock truck and enjoy the outcome. Finally ran my FILs 3.5 last weekend up to 60mph and he never got even with my rear bumper.

The 6.2 with 4.30s in a single cab will run its arse off, especially if you tune out the torque management. It's no diesel, but it will run like a bat outta hell all the way to the next gas station.

I'm still not sure how I feel about it though. The F250 is a long heavy SOB, and I need off road capabilities.

It is hard to pass up that deal. You can probably get close to, if not 0% financing too. They love to give great rates on the F150. Seems that the F250s are closer to 3%.

LWB and a gasser would be perfect for you. Plus, you arent running the Baja so stuff some 35"s under it and you have your perfect wood fetching truck. The 6.2 wont wake up too much from a tuner but you are correct, getting rid of the torque management makes all the difference in the world.

Depends on the truck and time of year. I bought a 2012 diesel at this time last year. It was a work model 4x4 crew w/ electric windows and locks, blue tooth, etc... sticker was 48 and I got it for under 38.

I have a hard time not getting a GM truck.

I digress, don't want to jack this thread. I'm probably buying a new truck in January, so I'll debate my arse off then

This time next year would be a great time to buy a new diesel. They are upgrading the turbos and while I wouldnt buy one, lots of others would nut over one. So either buy a late model 6.7 or a second year upgraded 6.7.

depending on her size, he could "politely ask" her to step out and meet him on the other side of the mud hole?

Rightfully so. Did you see the Top Gear episode where they towed the 747? I mean a Yota may be able to tow a space shuttle but if it cant tow a plane, no thanks!

The Ecoboost won that challenge, btw.

I don't put much stock in TV commercials, but judge by personal use consisting of 30-40 years of driving little ones, medium ones, big ones and hundreds of thousands of miles, without em going in the shop, jus' sayin'.

I've had real heavy bass boats and tractors, but have never needed to tow the space shuttle.
Where'd I put my dang bucket list?

One of those did not even exist till just a few years ago.

Reliability isnt everything. The 5.3 GM motor is one of the best motors ever made, right? Then why is their stock falling faster than a sorority girls drawers? Seems like their reliability should be all that matters, jus' sayin'.

Downshift, do it.
