How have you guys been doing? Killing many?
I know some bad shots are sending doves to Metairie. For the last week almost everyday I see at least 200 dove sitting on one power line. That's just in one small area. The dove population might be greater in the suburbs.

I've hunted 3 times. 1st was a good hunt. 2nd was ok and y-day was just ok as well. We did shoot (we meaning my son) shot 3 collared dove.

I've never killed or seen a collared dove but have killed 5 this year.

Shot a couple yesterday. Good number of birds flying. I only hunted for 30-40 minutes.

Mojo doves are pretty awesome. If you've never used one I'd recommend trying one out. They're ~$30 or $40

Made 5 hunts at Sherburne...saw a grand total of 9 birds. Morning, mid-day (opening day), and afternoon hunts. Most birds I saw were afternoon, and still wasn't worth a flip.

No, these are doves. I do know the difference and we don't have nearly as many pigeons as we once had.

Are they white-wings? Cause those suckers always seem to be around the cities and rural areas. I'd love to kill a mess of those.

Killed a limit opening day and day after all late over cut corn and soybeans in Catahoula Parish.

We've been killing those ring necks for about ten years now.

And yes I agree on the mojos.

It has been like WWIII on our local Wildlife Management Area planted with Clearfield sunflowers. Most everyone drawn for the opening day hunt limited out in a couple of hours. Yesterday they were slaughtered as well.

Yeah, a bunch of white wings but as many ring necks too.
I could limit out in my backyard some days when I keep the bird feeder filled.
