I'm in Slidell...will be free after 9 a.m. tomorrow and can grab my pirogue from a friends house if paddling is an option...I'm not in the best of shape, but if it's not too far of a paddle I'll do what I can...KR has my number

First of all... short version.. thanks for all the help... it is greatly appreciated..

waiting on call back from USFWS to see if airboat can be used in there... rules say NO....

water far too shallow for big boat.. but...

Grizz is alive and doing what he does...

We have a bead on him which is light years from where we were..... and he is alive.... he survived last night he can make it through the night.. I doubt he will get far off that ridge...

will load up the boat and head that way in the am... unless he shows up a datyat's tonight looking for grits and grillades...or a nip of jax beer...

1st choupique reconnaissance and rescue team will make an attempt in the early am....

from where i was and what i was in the middle of... I wouldn't have made it down there in time....

hopefully the water comes up a bit..

Sushi,
I have a buddy with a pro drive here in Mandeville. Scout out the situation in the morning and let me know what I can do to help. I can get the boat if needed. I also have Josey's kayak in my garage that I can bring over to help with the rescue if you need it.

That would be some cool shite to have Josey's kayak bring him back.

Sorry yall. I had to get back to work. Unfortunately I didn't see Grizzly, nor heard a bark.

As Wick posted, that last bit of info was from me. Lombards daughter stated he was North of the Bayou by about 500 yards and was running, chasing and barking at birds (this is GREAT news that he's still active!). In the last map Wick posted, I marked that red pointer about as close to where I believe the daughter last saw Grizzly, based upon where she was pointing. Chico Lagoon is SUPER SHALLOW, except for where the cut is (see pic above). The tide was WAY DOWN right now. Almost 10ft of mud between the edge of the water and the grass line. There is no walking through that nor through the Marsh grass...

Here's a better picture of what we're working with out there...

Choupiquesushi, as I told u on the phone here's a screen shot of Google maps with the red marker indicating about where I think the daughter last saw him. The blue dot on the map is Lombards boat launch parking lot. That will give you some perspective of the angles from which he was last seen. She said he was running "out and away towards the left a little" from where we were standing. I and KR's dad gave her our phone #s and asked her to call us if she saw anything.

I really hope this helps. Like you said on the phone, just the fact that he made it thru the last couple nights is very promising news.

This is hands down the best thread I've ever seen on here. If the combined powers of the OB save a MAN'S DOG MISSING IN THE MARSH...This is front page news.

yeah.. At least it EASIER walking there than where choupique II and I were walking sunday looking for him.. that's actually more solid...

where he was missing is way to the west.. not even on map.. that rascal covered some ground(even by his standards)....

I have a kayak.. may or may not bring it.. if I can get downwind of him.. bingo....

what really sucks... is..

Choupique II and I did not get to hunt alone together all through his christmas break either had his friends, my friends, customers,,, etc with us.. till sunday.. and then this happened....

the crap he walked through looking for that dog on sunday blew me away....

the response on here blew me away as well.. but then again.. neither were really a big surprise...

and... that's not my dog.. that's my wife and his dog.. make NO mistake about that..

where he is now.. is much easier to deal with than where he was....

to all of you...

Wouldn't that be surreal?
I've got nothing but well wishes unless someone needs a 2nd in the search.
Will probably go there and call in the AM since I've cleared the day. I'll be the old guy, bad tempered and touchy about people coming up to me.
