yep, just tie the hot airballoon off with enough slack to get high enough off ground to scan area with spotting scopes and binocs.

also, be on lookout for buzzards.... just sayin...

I suggest this Ultralight

We used to use them to survey for Alligator nests in Madisonville area. You can fly right over the grass/land in a duck pond etc.

I'm sure there is a charter/rental in NOLA area that has these

I used to know a guy that flew ultralites. He was in a club that flew a lot. I was to go up with him once but it was still in its inspection, so we flew a small plane that day instead.

He would not fly over water or swamps. I tried to get him that day to fly over the Pearl River area and he told me only down I-10.

I really thought Grizz would be home by now. Oh well, guess it'll be Saturday when the hunters get out there.

IIRC, you can rent an ultralight somewhere between the LA coast and BSL. I got to fly one when I was younger over the section of marsh you drive over on the interstate in MS. They are easy to pack up and move, and can take off in like 100ft

I don't duck hunt, but I gather 4 or 5 boats going in at daybreak on Saturday with everyone yelling Grizzly wouldn't be well received?

not unless you went where the ducks are rafting up

actually they have some squirrelly rules for use of marsh on duck hunting days..

Remember that this is the area where Sushi received a "warning shot" a few hours before the dog got lost.

The water is up at least a foot since yesterday morning.
I don't have to be in town until 11, so I will make another pass early.
I was blowing a regular coaches whistle the other day; does he even respond to that?

I think I'd fill an ice chest full of beer, Go to the launch where ya'll put in & build a fire if permitted. Blow whistle every time you finish a beer.

Yat we will try to hunt right past where u were tied up on that little island. A foot more water makes that easier

Plus we can see who comes and goes out of that area
