Had a shitty hunt this morning before going to a crawfish boil. Decided to try just throwing them in the boil. Anybody done this?

might be pretty damn good if you let it cook long enough to get tender...

Dunno, that is kinda like drinking green beer. Two things you wouldn't think of as going together

How'd the show pig project finish up? Did you make it to the Gonzales show?

Haha

We found some monster leaches in our crawfish sacks one time. We went ahead and boiled them. Had the consistency of boiled oyster but tasted like crab boil. Not bad.

I usually boil my ribs in crab boil for a bit before throwing them on the pit. They're great like that.

You should have boiled that tree rat longer.

Yea we got home yesterday from the livestock show. We were light in weight. Guess I built my pen too big and he had enough room to work off everything

As far as the crawfish boiled squirrel goes. The meat was tough as hell and still a little bloody. About like a med rare steak. For future references the blood smells and taste just like the guys smell. I shaved the meat off the bone with my pocket knife and tried to make a sammich. After gagging for the second time I admited defeat. The battle was lost but not the war. I'll live ( hopefully) to fight another day

You'd have to berl it at least as long as you would "cook it down" in a gravy. Age will determine how long.
