Yeah I would have pulled my pistol at that point and went about my walk.

Kind of related story. Went hiking last winter in Big Bend. Apparently having a pistol is a big no-no so I left mine in the truck. At each of the first three bends in the trail, there was a huge "BEWARE OF MOUNTAIN LIONS AND BEARS" sign with instructions on what to do if confronted by either... which included standing tall, throwing rock, making loud noises, etc.

Thought it was curious after the first sign. Little concerned after the second sign. After the third sign, said frick this and jogged back to get the pistol.

I went to Big Bend 20 yrs ago. Great hike. I didnt have a weapon at that time but today I would if I went. Also I thought Barry signed a law that now allows weapons in natl parks?

Not sure if he did. Didn't care much either way. Pistol was in the truck wherever we went.

That dude is an idiot for letting that yote that close to him. The next time it might be a kid, and that yote will only be braver. Same thing with assholes who feed alligators where kids swim.

To bad that guy did not have a small hatchet. Would have been an epic kill.

Just like a fight, if it's gonna happen, hit first.

And don't quit.

Now imagine your a scared 19 year old girl and there's 2 of them.

I'm not inclined to compare a Coyote in the barren north with the raggedy ones down here, especially when the guy essentially played with it and did everything he shouldn't in that encounter. My dogs make more aggressive noises when I rough house with them then that yote did. I'm not impressed or intimidated by him.

That's like thumping a cottonmouth on the head a few times and your surprised when it bites the crap out of ya.

The question should be... How many coyotes do you think it would take to kill you?

No weapons allowed in the the death match cage.

Wait, is there a tree within swinging distance? That matters.

at least 4.

and they better be some bad motherf---ers if its really life and death. I mean I'm going to be a biting, gouging, pulling, tearing, psycho SOB if its really them or me. I'd probably just scare them into retreating if I really lost my shite.

What makes you think 2 dogs with no off switch wouldn't get you?

1) They can't climb trees.
2) They don't have Kevlar fur.

Speaking of that, wild animals are much more likely to give up than domestic dogs. Instinct is such that it's not worth injury for a meal.

I'm kinda thinking about using one of the yotes as my weapon. Would love to see the look on his face as his swingin around hitting his buddies.

A damn yote is quick as lightning, I've seen one in action up close. One ol boy kicked at it and the yote latched onto his boot while the yote was in a culvert surrounded by baying hounds. Oh, and one will send a pack of walkers back to the fuggin truck. So you tough guys.... keep on toughin'.
