Barry signed a law that now allows weapons in natl parks?

In his first month in office, Obama overturned a 20-year ban on loaded guns in national parks and wildlife refuges. Licensed gun owners from any state can now carry concealed, loaded weapons on federal land.

Ten months later, as part of an omnibus spending bill, Obama reversed a decade-long ban on transporting firearms by train. Amtrak travelers can now carry unloaded, locked weapons in their checked baggage.

These actions, and others, are what earned Obama an "F" from the Brady Center for Gun Violence in 2010 for "extraordinary silence and passivity" on gun control. But Obama saw the moves differently.

"The fact is, almost all gun owners in America are highly responsible," Obama wrote in the Star. "They're our friends and neighbors. They buy their guns legally and use them safely, whether for hunting or target shooting, collection or protection. And that's something that gun-safety advocates need to accept."

Thanks, Obama!

So you tough guys.... keep on toughin'.

well i doubt i could outrun them after a pack a day for 15 years...so fighting back is probably my best chance.

it's all moot anyway, because they're getting a 270wsm to the head if they get within 100 yards.

The only time I have ever had an issue in the woods with yotes was in the Nantahala National Forest. I was sleeping under a tarp and could hear them howling before I set in for bed. They sounded close as hell, but my dog wasn't reacting and I had never had a problem before so I didn't put much thought into it. At around 1 am, my dog was acting crazy. Hair raised, sniffing the air, growling loudly. I could hear paws running around my campsite, directly outside my tarp. I quickly grabbed my head lamp to survey the area and just as I turned it on, there was a yote acting aggressively towards my dog. It would run around my tarp, snapping its jaws at the opening of my tarp. My dog was going absolutely ducking nuts and I let her go. She chased that coyote out of camp, to who knows where, and came prancing back without a scratch on her. Now, I will say, this was the middle of the night and I can't say for sure if it was a coyote or if I had convinced myself it was because of the howls I had heard earlier. Sure looked like one and I am glad my dog was with me, regardless of what it was.

A young Canadian folk singer was killed by some a few years back. From what I remember she was a small person. It has to be a terrible realization at the instant you realize "Hey, I'm not going to get away from them!"

I've got some yotes on my trail camera this season that I wouldn't want to walk up on unarmed. Will post pics later
