Are the specks still on the beach? Heading down Thursday night but not sure where to start. I haven't fished the beach in about a month and I would imagine the specks are in transition to the Marsh so I'm not sure where a big concentration of them will be. Any thoughts or reports?

We caught a nice mess of them last time I was there out by the islands.

I was last there at the end of July

I've caught trout the last 3 weekends on the islands not far from there. Fish are there just gotta find em. Caught 90 or so last Friday and 60 the week before.

This probably won't help you much, but I went in my yak a couple weeks ago in the marsh and caught quite a few small specks. I typically do not see them show up that far north until late August or September.

Fished last isle and couldn't get away from the big bulls. Water was dirty and only fished until about 10, but judging by the number of boats, people seem to think the trout are still thick out there. I'm calling it quits on the specks until probablt October. If you want to go catch some huge reds, now is the time. Good luck and tight lines.

Will you be taking some sweet drone videos for us to see? You need to get back in fresh water, they are showing up in numbers (the other specs).

I'll be back in town tomorrow and off the rest of the week. My main priority is finishing my deer stand but I planned on going to cocodrie/clovelly at some point. Let me know and I could probably make it down there

How were you able to get it up to 1600 ft?

I thought they were regulated down to 400?
