This weekend has been my first experience with carrying in a crowded grocery store and I feel like everyone is staring. Is it just me or did you feel this way too?

What were you carrying and was it concealed?

There's one thing I finally learned about people in general.

90% of them don't pay attention to anything other than the 6 inches in front of their faces.

You're fine. And if they do see it, so what?

about 1 week. then it just became natural. Been carrying religiously for over 10 years and have never been busted.

I'd say more like 96-97%.

I felt the same the first 3 or 4 times I carried, but then I realized,

Thanks guys. I know it's something I just have to get used to. I carry around the house a good bit so the iwb will become unnoticeable to me and I'll stop being so paranoid

It's natural to experience that when you first start carrying. You're not paranoid. No one knew your were carrying concealed. In a week or two you'll cc w/o those feelings.

It will slowly start to feel like part of your attire. Then you'll start to feel surprisingly naked without your gun on.

Couple other questions:

1. Does your Shield have the manual safety? If so, do you use it?

2. Do you carry condition 0 or 1 (0: loaded chamber, no safety; 1: loaded chamber, safety on)?

Y'all fat old farts don't have to worry about it. All the ladies are looking me up and down every where I go. I can't have some weird bulge on the top of my right arse cheek.

So why not appendix carry and really make them look twice?

Just being used to having it with me on the tractor, cutting firewood, and just having it on me has long since conditioned me to not even thinking about it being there. It's kind of like having a pocket knife for years. Kind of feel naked when I don't have either one with me.

Yes I have the safety. I bought the gun for my wife but she is pregnant and hasn't been able to complete the shooting portion for the chp so I am carrying it til she gets her permit then I'll switch to my fns9c or I'll buy another shield without safety.

I carry condition 0.

I have to situate it in the perfect spot around 5 o'clock, or else the handle is visible (to me at least). You can only see it in my shirt, but my pants look normal.

OP, most people probably won't notice it. The ones who do most likely won't put 2 and 2 together. The people that are more inclined to figure it out are other concealed carriers or people that are familiar with concealed carrying.
