I have always used same place and I like their products, just looking for a new place to take a deer today or tomorrow.
Anywhere within an hour of Ellick that does a great job?

Update: picked up from TRax today. Just had some reg smoked and some Jsck Millers fresh sausage. They were very very good. The Jack Millers sausage was amazing.

Packaged very well, labels on everything. Got back in just a few days.

So thanks on the rec, will be using for more deer in future

I go to Town and Country because of the sausage. It's probably my favorite sausage of any kind.

There are some Amish in the DeRidder area setting the processed game market on fire. Seriously, it's all I hear about from hunters I know in Vernon, Beauregard, & Rapides Parish areas.

My in laws in Dry Creek take theirs to some place without doing anything other than killing them. Hell, they don't even field dress

Had some of days sausage the other day. I wouldn't say it was bad because I have had some really bad sausage before...but it's definitely not somewhere that I'm going to pay to get a deer processed.

Troy's in Provencal is pretty decent. Has good snack sticks and makes excellent pre-made deer burger patties that hold together well. Everything is vacuum sealed. Sausage is decent, not worldbeating.

Yeah, right outside our place is s guy that skins and processes, camp mates haven't touch a knife to a deer in years.

I just don't like their products too much and it is too far to turn back around and go get

Yea he's been open since the week of Thanksgiving. We dropped off 4 deer and its all good stuff. Vacuum seals everything. Plus...the owner used to (he may still) post here.

Folks in Deridder aren't Amish - they're Mennonites. They have a big time catfish farm business down there too. And they make some awesome furniture

That's the one on 28 in Pineville. I have used them twice when I give my aunt a deer. Their deer sausage is great. I like to pick up some of their boudin when I'm there too.

ETA - Nevermind, I responded to your mid-thread post not realizing you were the OP looking for another place. It's good though.
