Just about any dictionary you look at will include in the definition of the verb "bear" as "to carry".

If you are saying that I can't carry in my pocket, or cc holster, isn't that an infringement of that right? I see you mention that it does not state that you can carry concealed. However, it does say that government can NOT "infringe" on your right to carry. Restricting how I carry is infringement, no?

Well you had to wait 18 years to be able to vote.

You don't have the "right" to vote until you are 18.

quote:

When the state is a "shall issue" state it's their responsibility to show one doesn't have the qualifications. Taxpayers have paid from their income taxes and retained income for a service to be performed in a timely manner. They have a right to expect their paid service to be fulfilled not put on hold as a convenience. The State is not holding their end of the bargain. When the State took the money they have agreed to those terms.

This has nothing to do with the right to bear arms.

quote:

And the the second amendment never said bearing arms is only open carry.

Nor does it say that bearing arms includes open carry.

quote:

Carrying concealed is a form of bearing arms.

It is. "Bear" means "carry." You have the right to carry arms. You do not have the right to bear concealed arms. The second amendment doesn't say that. No right comes without reasonable limitations.

quote:

If anyone thinks the secret service agents aren't armed or bearing arms under their suits is very mistaken.

This also has nothing to do with any second-amendment rights. You just don't understand "rights" very well.

Online is evidently the way to go and make sure you get your prints done at LSP. Applied the end of March this year and had it in hand in about two weeks here in LA.

From what I understand from my contact person is that the budget cuts have impacted the number of officers / employees who are processing permits and the volume of requests for permits has increased.

The troopers who processed the permits are probably assigned to the French Quarter.

Thanks Mitch!

So one has the right to carry arms but not concealed?

Here's where you circle around and contradict yourself.

Nor does it say that bearing arms includes open carry.

So bearing arms means to carry arms according to you yet you go on say it's a not a right to carry concealed nor open carry. How does one carry again?

quote:

This has nothing to do with the right to bear arms.

I have more than one right under the constitution. Forgive me if I use them.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand rights. Apparently you are suffering from that issue. What you're doing is trying argue against something you don't like and make excuses along the way. I don't deal with excuses well, I deal with results.

Got me. Meant to say concealed carry. The second amendment says nothing about concealed carry just as the first amendment doesn't say anything about yelling "Fire" in a crowded theater. Neither is included in the Constitution.

And forgive me if I call you out for trying to change the subject.

This is actually kind of funny. I'm not really arguing against what you apparently think I am. I am just pointing out how silly it is for anyone to think that a poorly run state bureaucracy somehow implicates a conspiracy to deprive people of rights that don't exist.

I agree that it doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand what a right is, and as huge of an understatement as it is to say that you are apparently not one, you also clearly don't understand them very well and just don't want to accept that not everything that you want to do with a gun is protected by the second amendment.

Did you receive the payment link email? This is what caused me delay because the email saying I was "approved or accepted" was received but the payment link went to junk folder for some reason.

From my post on page 2.
quote:

Online is the key part. At the end of May, a friend did his renewal entirely online, including scanning the certificate and driver's license. He had his renewal in about 2-3 wks. A week after him, I submitted my renewal application on line, but mailed the certificate and DL; I don't have my renewal yet.....
