Buy the CV blade and stick it in an Irish potatoe for about 2 weeks. Pull blade out of tater and it will be tarnished with a dull blackness on the blade. Resharpen and never worry about rust again.

Going to try

I do what I can

Amazon is like $10-15 cheaper than what they wanted at Bowies. Looks like its time to order.

I really like case knives way better than buck or old timer because they are still handmade and haven't gotten as commercialized. I also really like the chrome vanadium blades on my daily carry for how easy they sharpen. Also, once the blades do tarnish,it keeps reminding me of the Case knife my grandpaw always carried.

This and rust resistance is the sole purpose behind putting it in a potatoe

A small Stockman SS, red bone Trapper SS, yellow trapper CV, Pocket Worn red bone Trapper SS and the top stockman my dad found laying in the road. The blades are very, very worn on that one.
The only two I carry are the yellow trapper and the Pocket Worn trapper.
I really like the feel of the pocket worn. I highly recommend them.

I just realized, every one of these knives were gifts. I have never bought one.
