Negatives, mpg if anything. But you'll save that in rentals you'd have to use while your Ford is in the shop. On my second tundra, both had over 200k miles. Oil changes, brakes and timing chain only costs I've incurred. Just waiting for the diesel to hit the showroom floor before I get my next one.

My dads Ford is an 01 with 230K miles and has never been in the shop for a problem. Keep telling yourself that one.

Cap, what was your experience on dealing, price-wise?

How much were they coming off of the Tundra sticker price?
About 7K. Ford was coming off more for sure but they have them stickered much higher.
I've read where Ford is not giving as much incentive to buy the F-150 now in order to increase profits on them while they know they will not produce as many trucks this year due to the retooling of the factories for the 2015 model

brake control
Should be mandatory equipment for trucks. I will never buy another that doesn't have that from factory.

Damn. I'm split between a Ford and a Toyota. I was hoping Ford would be slashing prices on the 2014s with the new 2015s on the way.

there's no way they don't do this
i did read that there was a price increase from 2013 to 2014 though...to help mask the total increase to the 2015 model
i'm not sure about actual numbers though

Damn, that's more than I thought they would. That's great news.

That is a huge knock a lot have against the Tundra, from what I read. That, and they haven't upgrade their engine program as quickly as the domestics.

My dad '12 FX4 just fried it's own electrical system. Shut down the entire truck and it was in the shop for 3 weeks. Also, the dealership was trying to get him to get a new transmission, but he told them to grease the slip yoke(IIRC), and all was well. It had 99,771 miles on it when the electrical system went kaput. 299 miles short of the warranty ending. He will be going back to the Tundra for his next truck

Good engines, no doubt.
I was just mentioning what other folks have said.
Toyota has hovered around a 100K unit average for a few years.
To gain market share thy are going to have to adjust pricing (it seems they've done this) and to continually upgrade their product (more content, continued drivetrain upgrades).
Just an observation on my part.

I honestly think a marketing campaign against the problems the Big 3 have had would work better than upgrading everything every two years. They build a solid product, why frick it up?

I don't think Toyota (or any major) is going to use that tactic (recalls).
Toyota has had a ton of recalls lately.

I had a 2011 Tundra Platinum that I bought brand new. Sticker was $50k I paid $40k out the door.
Drove it for 2yrs and but just shy of 30k miles on it. Sold it for $35k and bought a new Sequoia.
No problems on either.
The engine is a beast.
My brother just bought one of the 2014 Tundras and i will say that the ride is even better than my Sequoia.
No where near as many as GM...

How does the interior look on the new ones?

No clue. Someone else may be able to answer.

My BIL worked at a dealership and told me what to pay, 500-600 over cost iirc. I pretty much told them this was what i was willing pay, if they weren't going to meet it, I was driving to Jackson. First SOB did make me get into my car and leave before calling and saying they could do it. I hate dealing with car salesmen.
