I just found him the perfect truck.
Got downshift written all over it.

ETA: Except for the ugly chrome fender things.

Idk what's been said so far... But I've wanted a Sierra for a while now (have f150).. Been fishing with a guy who has a tundra and that thing has me guessing on my next purchase. Strong engine that tows better than any of those other trucks and I like the way the interior is set up.. Only thing I dislike about it is that it's hard as hell to see out the back when backing the boat up.. And blind spots in general

Eta: speaking of trucks.. Anyone know of GM is rolling out a slightly new design this year?

The one that nodust posted seemed to fit you more imo.

2014

They've been keeping the revisions under lock and key pretty good. All I know is, the new truck better be draw-droppingly good looking and have some really nice features...competition is tight right now...and if the new truck is a flop, Ram is going to take 2nd place in sales from Chevy. This is going to be a make or break for GM.

Pretty low mileage for a 5.9 too. Could probably run it to 200,000+...rebuild it...and get another 200,000 out of it.

Bring your truck in. Tell them that you have been experiencing some harsh shifts and that you are aware of a computer flash. I got mine for free because of warranty but I am almost positive that they will do it for free regardless. While you're there, ask them to check for any other updates as well. Mine didn't have any but I can't speak for all.

All Star Ford in Prarieville refused to do the updates unless I could tell them the exact codes. I told them to shove it and All Star Ford in Denham bent over backwards to help me.

I'm busy at work till around 1 but soon as I can I'll get back on and address any other questions and give the 2013 my praise and love.

I'd go buy that truck today if I could afford it. That's ALMOST exactly what I want. The only ways it could be better would be less miles (i know it doesn't have alot, but less is always better), long bed, and least importantly, I like red trucks.

It's not uncommon to get 200,000+ miles out of a Cummins. I may have exaggerated a bit on the miles you could get out of a rebuild...but I'm fairly certain it is possible. Obviously would need a transmission too...those are always the first to go.

ETA: Just go search autotrader...they've got 10+ trucks with over 300,000 miles.

Say what? Just bring it in to the dealership and they'll take care of it?

Yup. My dad's 06 would randomly kill once every few months, and jt did it a couple times in a 2 week span, so he called the dealership. They said there's a computer update, bring it in, they updated it, and it hasn't happened since.

That's a good point, but I couldn't go to a Tacoma after driving a full sized truck. I test drove one before getting my F150. It was an extended can Tacoma, and I ended up getting a single cab f150 and I seriously have more cab space. Or at least useable cab space.

Yeah, the access cabs aren't big enough for me. My double cab has plenty of room though. I fold the rear seats flat during hunting season and have room for all of my gear. There is pretty good leg room in the back seats as long as there isn't someone over six feet tall sitting behind my long legged arse

We do have two kids, one in a car seat. I am open to anything but she doesnt like the F150.

Fords have the most rear leg room (43") while Chevy/GMC has the least (39") Ram's and Titan's are right in between the two (40-41")

The tundra isn't in the running for me, so I didn't compare it.

I have a 2011 Ford F-150 4 door lariat with the 6.2L and love it. It runs and rides good and is very confortable and has a ton of backseat room.

You should be fine. I pulled my 17.5 ft skeeter back and forth to Toledo about twice a month.
