They are a working truck and stick to it. You can get the frills if you want but 9/10 of them are built for workers.

My first truck was a 03 Ram but they just didn't offer the exact truck th,at I wanted this go around so I went with Ford.

And yeah I miss the 7.3 but have slowly accepted the factvthatbthose days are long gone.

How much of a PITA is it to order a truck from the factory? And do you get raped on price cause it's special order.

It needs to be like big rigs. Pick the cab and frame you want. Stuck whatever engine tranny drivetrain combo you want.

You wont save rediculois money like you would if you bought a left over from the previous year but it's not bad. You will still get the same discounts and rebates as a truck on the lot. You get to pick exactly what options you want and don't want. IMO, it's the way to go. Only downside is that you have to wait about 2 months to receive the truck.

One last thing I remembered, if you sign this month but receive your truck next month or the following, some dealerships give you the better rebates. Meaning, if you sign now for 1000 rebate and when you receive it's 2000, some will honor the 2000. Or vise versa.

My current truck was a special order by someone who changed their mind once it arrived. Luckily, we had the exact same taste and I got the exact truck that I wanted. Not sure if it saved me money because I bought from family but it sure as hell didn't hurt.

When I looked at trucks last year some dealerships were a lot more cooperative in searching inventories to find what I was looking for. Two places said the truck I want couldn't be made.

Yeah I ran into the same problem. Several dealerships around BR wouldn't even look at other dealerships inventory for me. I contacted my family up in Derrider and they found the exact truck I wanted in Houma. A week later the guy backed out of his truck at the dealership in Derrider and made it even easier.

I honestly never have had a harder time giving my money away than I did while trying to truck shop in BR. They have the volume and don't care if you buy or not.

If your wife is picking what kind of truck your going to get then you probably shouldn't be getting one. Get what you want. I'd go with the ecoboost in the Ford.

Also, why doesn't she like the Fords?

Texas is without a doubt the truck state. I was looking in BR but was only going to buy if they could beat the deal I had from family. They couldn't, so I didn't. If I did not have my family connection I would have been in Houston in a hurry.

Tundras and great trucks. Very solid and reliable. I do not care for the interior or MPG at all but those are opinions.

The Ecoboost is a great motor, on paper. The HP and TQ are unreal but the MPG isn't what they say it is. I have also started to see people online complaining of blown turbos and stuttering problems. Given this is all from online forums but it's more than a sales person will tell you.

I like Tundras and all, but every one I have been in rides like a truck. Something opposite of trucks today and rode more rough than my new truck

I'm mildly retarded I guess. I like my truck to ride like a brick shithouse. I want dump truck suspension on that bitch.

They must put crappy turbos on them. It's not like it's new technology.

A turbo would be the best thing that ever happened to the internal combustion engine if they would just accept the lag and quit putting variable vanes and all that kinda bullshite in them.
